About Me
Welcome to my world of creativity! I’m Jacqueline" Zoffany" Hurley, a self-taught abstract artist living in the beautiful landscapes of Southwest France. I am a contributing member to the Milan Art Institute.
My artistic heritage dates back to the Neoclassical art period (mid-18th century) through my ancestor grandfather, Johann Zoffany, a renowned and prolific Royal portrait painter whose most famous work includes "The Tribuna of the Uffizi", commissioned by Queen Charlotte of England. In honour of my ancestor, my works are all signed with "Z".
I am a confessed thief. I steal ideas. As Picasso once said, "Bad artists copy, good artists steal." I take these stolen ideas and transform them into something new, unexpected, and beautiful, resulting in blossoming abstraction or realism pieces that are unique and true to my style.
My art, I hope, serves as a bridge, a way for us to connect on a deeper, more emotional level without the need for explanation or explicit comprehension. From the viewer's perspective, I'd like to think that it's about feeling, responding, and letting imagination fill in the voids. You be the judge.
